Volumes have been set forth on this subject, and the controversy and interchanges about where the "hot" one armed bandits are installed in a casino are still on-going - over sixty years after one armed bandits were first placed in the casinos.

The classic rule is that the superior slots were put just inside the door of the casino; so that folks walking by would be able to see real jackpot winners and be tempted to come into the casino ... play. Our inclination is that this is definitely no longer true.

Nearly all of the major casinos presently are behemothic complexes ... it is not possible to see inside from the sidewalk, so there's no longer a reason to position the 'loose' one armed bandits near to any doorways.
