Books have been stated on this item, and the bickering and discord about where the "hot" video slots are installed in the casino are still raging - over 60 yrs after the slots were first placed in casinos.

The standard rule is that the more favourable slot machine games were placed just inside the entry of the casino; so that individuals going by would see actual jackpot winners and be infatuated enough to come unto the gaming floor and play. Our presumption is that this is no longer the case.

The majority of the mega casinos presently are enormous complexes ... it is not possible to see inside from the sidewalk, so there's no longer a reason to put the 'loose' one armed bandits in close proximity to any doorways.
